I really don’t wish to come across as ungrateful here. I get free music sent to me occasionally from various sources and for equally varied reasons. Some of what I get sent is very good, and some of it – mostly the unsolicited tech-house stuff – is absolutely dire.

Recently, there has been a noticeable upsurge in the number of people sending me some excellent records that I simply cannot use in my sets – mostly because they’re only 3 to 4 minutes long. There’s little to nothing I can do with those types of records. In this digital age where choice is plenty, they’re inevitably going to get overlooked by me for things that are a bit longer.

So, you have three options in this situation, really…

  1. Increase the length of your tracks. Between 5 and 8 minutes is reasonable enough for my liking.
  2. Stop sending them to me
  3. Ask me if I’ll do a remix of your song. That way, I’ll definitely support it and definitely play it. Email me if you wish to avail of this option!

That is all.
