On the week that French monks started flogging cheese online, I go through the latest releases to find the Gouda instead of the ones that grate. Hopefully, I’ll find some tunes that you’ll be fondue of…

Carla Prather & Seb Skalski – Be Unstoppable (Nervous)
Their online advertising department might well think it’s still 1975, but Nervous do turn up with the goods occasionally. Here’s an example of them getting it absolutely right. A lovely soulful house track with a more synth based mix if you prefer. More, please.

Angela Johnson Feat. Darien Dean – All In Me (Purpose Music)
Two vocal powerhouses appear on the one record. This brings the possibility of a lot of things going wrong. They might sound amazing, but a bad mixdown or bad track won’t make it work. Sol Brown delicately swerves this trap and delivers a soulful production which very much puts those vocals in the centre. An excellent package.

Tony Fuel Feat. Andrea Brown – The Feeling (Plastik People)
I really like this tune. The vocals are great, the production is fantastic, the remix potential is truly endless. And yet I also have a problem with it. Only two weeks ago, this duo released their previous song on Pogo House. The timing of this release is therefore unfortunate, with a real danger it’ll go in the shadow of the first single. It deserves to shine for its own brilliance.
