On the week that a Turkish musician conquered his fear of flying by playing his violin whilst falling through the air, I go through the records that’ll have you thinking you’re going through the air yourself!

Sol Brown Feat. Selina Campbell – Wide Awake (Makin Moves)
This was originally reviewed when it came out in 2017 and did favourably. Fizzikx has been tasked with refreshing the song – and my goodness, that’s exactly what he’s done. This new, more sophisticated sound that Fizzikx has these days works so well. The arrangement of the dub somewhat reminds me of his garage house days, but brought up to date. I cannot honestly pick a favourite.

Kenny Hamber – Stand By Me (Quantize)
Some Quantize stuff appeals to me, some leaves me feeling a bit cold. This one is definitely on the appealing side. Jazzy chords of the type I’ve come to really appreciate lately, drums that swing like anything and Kenny Hamber on top. The DJ Spen and Reelsoul remix is best for me.

Stephanie Cooke – Alright (Fizzikx Vocal Remix) (King Street)
I’ve been horrendously slow on the uptake with this one, and I do apologise. For some reason, King Street put this on a remixes EP instead of releasing it in its own right. A weird decision, but thankfully, its position high on the Traxsource charts at the moment shows it’s getting the appreciation it deserves.
