If you’ve been on social media at all this week and follow dance music, it’s entirely possible that you’ve seen pictures like this on your feed. This particular one comes from New York and cites the date 15th July…

Other versions have popped up around the world, including in Berlin, London and Melbourne – where due to the time difference, theirs states July 16th instead. They’re a reference to the Swedish House Mafia, who haven’t put out any new records for quite a few years now.

Unsurprisingly, this has got all the dance music outlets behaving like toddlers on a sugar induced high. But they might wish to remember this isn’t the first time they’ve used this trick – they did the same thing three years ago.

Nonetheless, does anyone care what they’re up to? Probably. If I’m honest, I care a little bit. I remember them from before the Swedish House Mafia was a thing…
