Every now and then, a remix comes along that totally turns the original song on his head. Most of the time when this happens, the results are terrible. But occasionally, this approach can bring remarkable results.

Like back in 1996 when someone using the alias Heavy Weather decides to cover “I Can’t Turn Around” by Isaac Hayes. The cover is absolutely dreadful and, even by the standards of the mid-90s, reeks of cheese. And I suspect even the record label who first signed this knew it.

Why? Because they brought Todd Edwards in to remix it. And he turned it from a truly excreable cover which takes forever to do nothing into… well, see for yourself.

It’s no wonder he used to charge some £10,000 for a remix…
