Things have gone pretty quiet in the Derrick May camp over the past few weeks. This is the main reason there haven’t been any posts here about the man himself recently – my sources are mostly as baffled as I am as to why he’s barely been seen or heard over the past two months.

“It’s pretty out of character for him”, admits one source, “and he’s playing his cards very close to his chest. I reckon it’s all part of a plan”. This could be possible – one of the rumours I’m hearing about what May might do next has been circulating lately, but I don’t have enough proof to publish it at present. Shame…

Elsewhere, I’m hearing whispers that some of the DJs on the lineup for Club Shelter’s 30th birthday party next week are feeling uneasy with my story about May still being on the bill, despite his name being removed. One DJ, who I’ve chosen not to name at this time, is said to be “grappling with his conscience” over whether he’ll attend if May will be present.

And finally for now – I discovered the other day that Transmat’s Bandcamp store sell, amongst other things, vests for babies. Although bizarrely, only in the one size…
