On the weekend that a parish council asked residents to stop leaving sexy books in a phone box, I go through the records that are less on the shelf and more off the hook!

DJ Disciple Feat. Pappie Khaye – Revolution (Catch 22)
Steve Miggedy Maestro and Demarkus Lewis provide the mixes here. The versions by Miggedy, as fine as they may be, are not my kind of thing. The Demarkus Lewis version most certainly is, though. Is there anything this man doesn’t get right at the moment?

Wipe The Needle – Lo Custom Fit EP (Makin Moves)
The second and third track on this EP are decent enough, but they’re not what grabs my attention here. That was done by the song “Black Bird”, where Tshaka Campbell is enlisted with vocal duties. Much more up my street!

Trade & Del Sanderson – On Your Mind (Smashing Trax)
Garage house is something I’ve fallen a bit out of love with lately, if I’m honest. Things started exciting but quickly became very repetitive. Trade and Del Sanderson are a bit different in that regard. The original is very enjoyable, as is the Jay Ward remix taking things in a deeper direction. However, there’s just something about the arrangement on the Bruverly Dubs mix which makes it my favourite.
